Prof. T. S. Satyanath

Prof. T. S. Satyanath is a former Professor in the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi (Delhi 110007). Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Cultural Studies and Folklore Studies are his areas of interest. He has published extensively in these areas, five books, thirty-five research papers in Kannada and forty-seven in English. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and University of Georgetown, Guyana and a visiting professor at Kannada University, Hampi. He is a former EC member of Comparative Literature Association of India and is closely associated with Delhi Comparatists, a group of teachers and students engaged with comparative studies on the campus of the University of Delhi. He is also one of the editors of Delhi Journal of Comparative Studies. He is a recipient of the Karnataka State Janapada and Yakshagana Academy award (1985), Sham Ba Joshi award for his contribution to cultural studies (1997) and G. S. Shivarudrappa award (2024).
